Boncoura
Boncoura is a Japanese clothing brand founded by designer Hisashi Morishima. Morishima has collected and worn vintage garments since his youth, developing a deep understanding of historical clothing and traditional manufacturing.
Boncoura garments are produced in Japan with careful attention to fabric development, construction and hardware. Many materials are developed specifically for the brand and reflect Morishima’s long study of vintage workwear.
The name Boncoura combines the French phrase bon courage (“do your best”) with the Japanese word bonkura, referring to someone who stubbornly follows their own beliefs.
